We apply metal in two different processes Arc spraying: also known as twin wire arc spray, two wires are fed through our machine to a hand held unit where they are melted and blown on to a media blasted surface. We can spray a variety of metals as long as they are available in wire form. Our popular metals are Zinc, for galvanizing and build up, Bronze, Copper, Nickel, Stainless Steel, and hard metal blends for rebuilding worn surfaces. Arc spraying does not require preheating or electrifying the item to be sprayed, and there is no cure time. It can be used mostly on metal objects, though the zinc can be sprayed on certain other non-metal items. |
Composite Spraying: Metal powders are mixed with a proprietary resin blend and catalyst. This forms a sprayable liquid that can be applied to almost anything. Our available metals are Bronze, Brass, Copper, and Sonoma Gold in the warm color family, and Pewter, Nickel, and Iron in the cool color family. The metal powders can be blended to achieve custom colors, if a close match to an existing item is needed.
Both of these processes can have patinas applied, and varying finishes can be achieved by sanding, satin finishing and polishing. Due to the particulate nature of the metals, a mirror finish cannot be achieved. We are not limited by the size of items to be sprayed, although extremely large or heavy projects may require special equipment rental and will be factored in to the project’s overall cost. Due to liability and high cost, we cannot bring spray equipment to a job site.
We also do sandblasting and polishing, at hourly rates.
